BANGKOK (25 November 2023) – Thailand have been drawn in the same Group C as defending champions Saudi Arabia for the AFC Under-23 Asian Cup 2024.
With the sixth edition of the tournament less than six months away in Qatar, the official draw this week saw Thailand being placed in the same group as Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Tajikistan.
Australia, who finished fourth at the last edition in 2022 are in Group A against host Qatar, Jordan and Indonesia.
ASEAN neighbours Vietnam and Malaysia are in Group D alongside losing finalists from two years ago Uzbekistan and Kuwait.
Former champions Japan are in Group B with South Korea, United Arab Emirates and China PR.
The AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 will be held on 15 April to 3 May 2024 with the top three finishers qualifying for the Olympic Games 2024.
