PETALING JAYA (4 November 2023) – It could not have gotten any keener than for Sabah FC to be crowned champions of the FAM Women’s League 2023 on goal difference.
At the end of the five-team league season, Sabah FC had completed their campaign on the same 13 points as Kelana United FC.
But the East Malaysian side was crowned champions due to their better goal difference with eight as against Kelana United FC’s minus one.
Earlier this evening, Sabah FC were lucky to have escaped with a drab 1-1 draw against Malaysian University in their final game of the season.
After the deadlock at the end of an earnest first half, it was Malaysian University who went ahead in the 84th minute through Nurfazira Sani before Siti Nursasha then equalised for Sabah FC three minutes later.
The one point was enough for Sabah FC to be crowned champions this year.
