‘We hope to impress’ – Panupun

BANGKOK (5 November 2023) – Bangkok FC women’s team head coach Panupun Kumvongdee hopes ‘to impress’ when Group A of the AFC Women’s Club Championship™ 2023 kicks off tomorrow in Chonburi, Thailand.

Bangkok FC will take on the Hualien Women’s Football Team from Chinese Taipei in the second game of the evening at the Chonburi Stadium.

“The opponents are all tough teams but we have trained hard and hope to impress,” said Panupun.

“This is the first time we will be playing in this tournament but we hope to do well.

AFF’s other representative is Sydney FC from Australia, who will play Iran’s Bam Khatoon FC at the JAR Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan tomorrow afternoon.

“We know it is going to be a tough tournament, starting with the first game against Bam Khatoon who have a lot of international players that recently played Australia (in Round 2 of the Olympic Games 2024 qualifiers),” said Sydney FC head coach Ante Juric.

“It is going to be tough but we have prepared well. The three teams we will face are here because they are champions of their countries and have won many titles.”

This year’s AFC Women’s Club Championship™ will be the last edition where they will make way for the AFC Women’s Champions League™ next season.
